Admitted to the California State Bar in 1981, Mr. Mertens was conferred a Juris Doctorate by the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall). His undergraduate work was performed at Claremont Men's College, from which he graduated magna cum laude with a major in Political Science. While in law school, he served as Executive Editor for the California Law Review, Volumes 68-69. Mr. Mertens's publications include "Current Developments at the NLRB," Employee Relations Law Journal, Vol. 11, and "Current Developments in Labor-Management Relations," Employee Relations Law Journal, Vol. 15. His practice areas at AMC are labor and employment litigation, tort litigation, and commercial litigation.
