Ms. Widener is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Anderson, McPharlin & Conners LLP.  Her litigation practice involves a wide range of matters including prosecuting and defending actions on behalf of title insurers, escrows, real estate owners, loan servicers and lienholders.  Ms. Widener frequently represents, advises and litigates matters on behalf of clients relating to real property disputes; easements; broker, escrow and title liability; probate; mortgage banking; and general commercial litigation.  She has extensive experience defending loan servicers and lenders against challenges to the validity of liens arising out of fraud and forgery, as well as claims arising out of the Truth-in-Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Practices Act, Financial Elder Abuse Act, Unfair Business Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and state and federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts.

Ms. Widener has spoken at the California Mortgage Bankers Western States Loan Servicing Conference as well as the Mortgage Banker’s Association Fraud Issues Conference and Quality Assurance Conference.  She has also presented continuing education seminars to realtors and escrow officers.
