April 29, 2020: COVID-19 Impacts Recording and Indexing by County Recorder Offices Throughout the State

Bill Larr, Esq. joined a panel presentation coordinated by Elmira Howard, Chair of the Title Insurance Sub-Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, on the effects of COVID-19 on recording and indexing of documents throughout California.  The constantly changing reality of COVID-19 will undoubtedly have an impact real property issues.  As of now, it is clear the pandemic is having an effect on County Recorder Offices which are currently closed to the public, but accepting recordings from the public by mail and limited drop box locations. However, whether the recording and indexing of documents are processed in a manner that protects owners and lienholders remains to be seen. Contact AMC Real Property Team with any questions.
