Successful Petition for Writ of Mandate

Vanessa H. Widener and Ali Z. Vaqar obtained a victory in the Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, on a Petition for Writ of Mandate requesting the trial court set for hearing the Motion for Summary Judgment which was timely filed and served for hearing before trial but because of the imposition of a Local Rule the hearing reservation had been canceled. The Court of Appeal issued its Opinion granting the Petition and directing the trial court to set the motion for hearing. The unpublished opinion was issued in CFP BDA, LLC v. The Superior Court of Riverside County, No. E085583 (Cal. App. May 2, 2025).  The Court of Appeal also requested, on its own motion, the California Supreme Court certify the Opinion for publication.
