Delia Ibarra is an associate at Anderson, McPharlin & Conners LLP in Los Angeles, California.  With seventeen years of experience, she is a seasoned litigator who has represented both individuals and corporate entities in a variety of business-related disputes.  She has handled complex matters spanning many areas of California and federal law, including directors’ and officers’ liability, ERISA, intellectual property (including trade secrets), entertainment, civil rights, regulatory, insurance, employment and fiduciary violations, as well as real estate litigation.  She has also prosecuted and defended actions involving allegations of commercial and individual fraud.  Currently, she is handling a number of business disputes centered around real estate development deals.  She is also currently engaged in several high stakes appeals.

Ms. Ibarra’s clients represent a broad cross-section of Los Angeles business people and entities.  She has represented technology companies, real estate developers, Native American Tribes, car dealerships, toy manufacturers, fashion designers, prominent restaurant owners, filmmakers, and Tequila importers.  She also represents a number of clients who are based in Latin America and have business and litigation interests in California.

Experience

In the past, Ms. Ibarra has achieved favorable results in all of the following representative cases and matters:

  • Prevailed on summary adjudication on behalf of her client, a technology company (plaintiff), resulting in a confidential seven figure settlement (pay-out) in favor of her client.
  • Defended a Boston bank in a billion dollar class action lawsuit and prevailed on summary judgment in the District Court (later affirmed by the Seventh Circuit);
  • Represented an individual plaintiff (through trial) in an employment dispute with a major aerospace and defense corporation that resulted in a million dollar judgment in favor of plaintiff;
  • Successfully defended a U.K.-based manufacturer accused of patent infringement in California by prevailing on a preliminary motion;
  • Successfully defended a fashion designer from trademark dilution claims (by prevailing on summary judgment);
  • Defended a car dealership on a variety of allegations of consumer fraud;
  • Represented the creator of an iconic television sit-com in a royalty dispute;
  • Represented a fashion designer in a contractual dispute with a textile manufacturer.

Prior to law school, Ms. Ibarra served as a speechwriter to the Secretary of Health and Human Services during the Clinton Administration.
